| Job Description: |
Below are some duties and responsibilities:
- Installation and configuration of Linux and OVM servers.
- Implementation and maintenance of Linux operating system security procedures.
- Provision physical and virtual services and application services, peripherals, settings, directories, storage, etc.
- Perform ongoing performance, system and application tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.
- Monitor physical/virtual computing environment, servers, virtual machines, data stores, networks.
- Problem Management – Identify service impacting trends and work with the development teams to implement long term solutions.
- Incident Mitigation – On call to mitigate incident.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays on an on call basses.
- Knowledge of core system and security applications and protocols such as basic TCP/IP, DNS, NTP, NFS, LDAP, SSH, Kerberos, SSSD, LVM, SSL, and Microsoft Active Directory
Additional Desired Qualifications:
- 3+ years of Operations experience in a 24x7 Environment.
- Scripting and automation (bash, python, etc…)
- Kubernetes, Jenkins, Ansible and Git experience is a plus.
- Proven experience and skill with network troubleshooting and configuration.
- Proven experience and skill with server hardware and software troubleshooting.
- Cloud infrastructure experience a plus.
- Experience defining, implementing, and monitoring IT services is a plus.
- Currently this would be a contractual appointment.
