Job Description:

Terms of Reference of MNCH consultant for PPHI based in PPHI office

Major tasks to be accomplished:

  • Work with PPHI management to develop strategy to make functional 24/7 BHU s
  • Review of existing data about all identified 24/7 BHUs providing MNCH services
  • Develop action plans of all identified 24/7 functional centers to fill all the gaps including HR, equipment supplies and trainings
  • Develop mechanism to track the progress of the 2/7 functional centers
  • Support to implement quality improvement process in the facilities to improve the quality of services
  • Monitoring and supervision of the health identified 24/7 functional facilities. Facilitate training need assessments and plan trainings accordingly in selected 24/7 functional facilities
  • Coordinate training site strengthening of selected training sites
  • Develop annual training plan and prepare training schedules quarterly and monthly basis
  • Collects and analyses data from facilities, quarterly review, Coaching & mentoring visits. Assembles MCH related material, reports, background information and provides updated information on training & quality progress.
  • Supervise and support district based teams of technical district health specialists & identify quality coordinators.
  • Support on site clinical attachments of CMWs to complete their agreed number of cases by use of learning guides/checklists
  • Any other work assigned by the supervisor related to trainings.

Outcomes (deliverables):

  • Facilities specific plans
  • Training reports
  • On the job training plans, coaching & mentoring plans & schedule of training activities plans for clinical attachments & site strengthening

Required Skills:
Qualifications or specialized knowledge/experience required:
M.B.B.S and/or a degree in or MPH, LHV, Staff Nurse with strong MNCH trainings background
Computer knowledge about MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, emails and other programmers desirable
Has proven experience of working in field to conduct trainings & follow tight deadlines.
Good verbal and communication skills in English and Urdu. Working knowledge of Sindhi will be an asset.

By 2017, thousands of deaths of women, newborn babies and infants will have been prevented as a result of the USAID/Pakistan MCH Program. USAID/Pakistan has, in cooperation with the USAID Office of Inspector General, established the Anti-Fraud Hotline to provide an avenue for the reporting of fraud, waste, and abuse which may be associated with USAID funded projects in Pakistan.
