Job Summary: The Reading Quality Coordinator (RQC) will be responsible for ensuring that in-service teacher training activities are completed on-time and with quality in the region. The Reading Quality Coordinator will report to the Technical Manager.
Responsibilities:The Reading Quality Coordinator (RQC) will:• Provide leadership and oversight to teacher training team for both in- service training programs; • Plan, implement, monitor, evaluate and maintain quality of in-service activities in the province/region/districts;• Monitor training sessions, TIG meetings, and classroom level activities regularly in the field • Provide on-the-job support to project staff, mentors, education officials, head teachers and teachers during training, TIG sessions and in classrooms;• Ensure the timely accomplishment of in-service activities in the province/region/ districts in close coordination with district/provincial project staff;• Coordinate with provincial/regional/district education departments to initiate and implement project activities timely;• Liaise with government, private institutions and community for implementation of activities; • As necessary, design and/or roll out monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to ensure regular data collection, quality assurance, and regular reporting;• Travel to field sites and districts to oversee implementation and monitoring of project activities.• Identify technical and operational needs and communicate them to the Technical Manager and/or Head of Office;• Plan and conduct capacity building sessions for the PRP teacher training staff;• Contribute to development and designing of reading resources at regional and national level• Coordinate and support the district teams and government department of education for the scale-up of CPD activities;• Play role to ensure implementation of reading assessment activities at the district schools level;• Coordinate with the MRC members to ensure review of the reading materials at the regional level;• Coordinate and give input to component 1 team at national level on regular and need basis;• Ensure the district budget projection are submitted on timely, accurately and also monitored; • Assist Technical Manager in preparing annual regional office work plans and budgets;• Contribute to developing weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports and success stories; • Ensure adherence to project work plans and performance management plans;• Any other task assign by the Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONSEducation:• Master’s degree in Education from a reputable National/Foreign University; • Previous experience with teacher training project(s) is highly desirable.
Work Experiences:• More than 8 years of post-qualification professional experience in the education sector, preferably with International Non-governmental Organizations (INGOs);• Demonstrated experience in implementation of teacher training activities including coordination with district and provincial education officials, schools, teachers, and teacher training institutions.
Preference will be given to the female candidates
Demonstrated Skills:• Strong training and organization skills are required;• Familiarity with primary teaching practices;• Familiarity with the regional context (in particular Gilgit-Baltistan).
Language and Computer Skills:
• Strong coordination and communication skills to ensure that project activities are implemented on time and with quality;• Fluency in English, both verbal and written as well as fluency in Urdu is required. Knowledge of local languages will be preferred;Travel:• Willingness for travel to remote areas.
