Job Description: |
As the Hospital Director for MDMI – Midland Doctors Medical Institute, a setup of British Registered Charity – Midland Doctors, you will be responsible for providing leadership and operational management to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care to poor and needy people in AJK, North Pakistan.
Your role will involve leading, managing, and achieving fundraising targets in Azad Kashmir and Pakistan, business development and setting standards and strategies for the hospital in compliance with all applicable regulatory and licensing agencies.
The Hospital Director will determine and formulate policies and provide overall direction for the organisation within guidelines set by the EXEC board of Hospital Directors. This role requires a resourceful individual capable of generating business from hospital resources, developing the hospital through influence, and working operationally with international doctors and volunteers. The Hospital Director must effectively coordinate operational activities at the highest level with the assistance of the management team and EXEC members.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- As a Hospital Director you should be able to perform, but not limited to the following tasks: -
- To oversee, lead, and manage MDMI
- Ensure smooth operation of MDMI in line with the Midland Doctor\'s vision
- Provide direct supervision and leadership to the MDMI Management Team
- Provide weekly update reports to the Executive Trustees of Midland Doctors
- Manage communication and links with local people and the political environment
- Research, identify and develop a range of self-sustainable income measures for MDMI
- Enhance the private patient income for MDMI by offering a range of medical services for private patients at the hospital in Pakistan.
- Develop a comprehensive annual business and marketing plan for MDMI to offer private healthcare services to the population of Tandali, Muzaffarabad, and the neighboring areas.
- Able to achieve annual income generation targets and goals.
- Develop appropriate strategies to raise Zakat, Sadqa and other funds in Pakistan
- Test and improve our current patient Zakat Assessment system
- Establish meaningful partnerships and maintain connections with the local community, government organisations, and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
- Provide a comprehensive annual report to Midland Doctors Executive Trustees
- Arrange annual internal and external financial audits by qualified and experienced companies.
- Ensure regular customer satisfaction surveys are carried out
- Direct or coordinate the organisation\'s financial or budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments, or increase efficiency.
- Prepare the organisation for future changes and maintain detailed financial analysis data.
- Analyze operations to evaluate organisational or staff performance in meeting objectives, identifying areas for potential cost reduction, program improvement, or policy changes.
- Develop policies, objectives, or activities to ensure ongoing operations, maximize returns on investments, or increase productivity.
- Prepare budgets for approval, including those for funding or program implementation.
- Confer with board members and organization officials to discuss issues, coordinate activities, or resolve problems.
- Implement corrective action plans to address organisational or departmental problems.
- Negotiate contracts or agreements with suppliers, distributors, federal or state agencies, or other organisational entities.
- Improve recordkeeping systems or other administrative control processes.
- Review and analyze legislation, laws, or public policy and recommend changes to support the interests of the general population or special groups.
- Represent the organisation or promote its objectives at official functions or delegate representatives to do so.
- Ensure compliance with the organisation\'s policies and procedures
QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
- Masters in health management or equivalent qualifications such as a master\'s level in business.
- Successful 5 years plus experience in leading a large medical or similar organisation
- Knowledge of local area politics and ability to deal with any related issues
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to manage, motivate and engage teams
- Experience in fundraising, tender/bid writing and budget management
- Successful experience in meeting financial Income and other key targets
- Experience in working with a wide range of organisations
- Project management skills
- Command of English Language
- Leadership, Management and Coordination skills
- In-depth knowledge of key health policies and local bylaws/ healthcare standards (ISO/JCI) specific to Pakistan.
- A good understanding & working experience of the entire range of hospital management specific to Pakistan.
Working Conditions:
The work is typically carried out during regular business hours, but the Hospital Director may need to work extra hours as necessary to meet the organisation\'s needs. Some travel within Pakistan may be necessary to attend meetings, conferences, or other events. Additionally, the Hospital Director may occasionally be called upon to oversee humanitarian relief operations, which may involve site visits and coordination of teams. |
